Megastructure
The Groik Nexus
Centre Groïk
Description
The research labs and databanks of a Science Nexus generate an immense flow of raw, undiluted science.
Where to build it
Each empire can only build one Megastructure.
- Cannot build outside Empire borders.
- Cannot build due to existing Megastructure.
- Cannot build in systems that have not been surveyed.
- Cannot build more than one Science Nexus.
- Cannot build more than two Science Nexuses.
Required technologies
Construction stages
1. Science Nexus Site
This initial site will serve as the base for the future construction of a Science Nexus.
- Cost
- 5,000 Unity
- Upkeep
- 5 Energy Credits
1,800 days to build
2. Science Nexus Hub
Equipped with a state of the art singularity reactor, the central core will cover most of the Nexus' energy needs. It will also connect the future research facilities.
- Cost
- 5,000 Unity
- Upkeep
- 25 Energy Credits
- Output
- 100 Society Research, 100 Engineering Research, 100 Physics Research
3,600 days to build
3. Science Nexus Research Wings
The research wings will contain most of the labs and provide housing for the scientists. They come with multiple security chambers to allow for complete lockdown of various areas, if necessary.
- Cost
- 5,000 Unity
- Upkeep
- 50 Energy Credits
- Output
- 200 Society Research, 200 Engineering Research, 200 Physics Research
3,600 days to build
4. Science Nexus
A fully equipped and operational Science Nexus.
- Cost
- 5,000 Unity
- Upkeep
- 75 Energy Credits
- Output
- 300 Society Research, 300 Engineering Research, 300 Physics Research
3,600 days to build
5. The Groik Nexus
Named after its inventor, this Science Nexus has a neural bank containing the brain of one of our finest researchers integrated into its main drive, allowing it to operate at an increased speed.
- Upkeep
- 100 Energy Credits
- Output
- 350 Society Research, 350 Engineering Research, 350 Physics Research
20 days to build
